General terms and conditions for these services:
– Primary Objective: To locate the immigrant’s entry into Brazil, whether as an individual (single) or as part of a family.
– Secondary Objectives: To identify the ship of transport, the point of origin, and the initial destination in Brazil. To suggest possible avenues for tracing descendants in Brazil, if feasible.
– The service consists of attempting to locate the immigrant’s entry into Brazil (for those who immigrated between 1824 and 1853) and providing basic information about the immigrant and their family (when applicable), such as names, ages, place of origin, the colony to which they went, the ship on which they traveled, etc. (when such information is available).
– This is not, therefore, a genealogy service for the immigrant’s descendants.
– The service does not include the search for or provision of civil, religious, or any other type of records.
– Response time for information on the immigrant: approximately 15 days after the start of the search.
– If the immigrant cannot be located, they will be added to our list of immigrants pending location; should they be located during the course of my ongoing research, the person who requested the search will be notified.
– During the search, we will send one or more interim reports with details about the immigrant being sought.
– Payment for the service is due in advance and is not contingent on whether the search yields positive or negative results.
Sincerely,
Ademar F. Fey
