In November of this year we launched a book in print and e-book searchable format, involving 44 ships that in the years 1824 to 1830 brought immigrants to Brazil from Germany.

In these ships, a good part of passengers are immigrants who have come to various Brazilian states: Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Pernambuco and Bahia.

This book encompasses the content of the three previous e-books and adds other unpublished ships.

We have detected a number of historical corrections that will be part of this book.

In addition, issues of landings involving the states of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul were better clarified

Basically the book gives a summary with details of the ship, place of departure and arrival, date of departure and arrival, and the list of passengers (as complete as possible, if any).

Correções Históricas – Imigração Alemã no Brasil 1824-1830

Neste post iremos relacionar as correções históricas na medida em que forem detectadas em nossa pesquisa sobre a Imigração Alemã no Brasil, período entre 1824 e 1830.

O objetivo aqui não é o de diminuir o trabalho dos antigos historiadores da imigração alemã no Brasil (especialmente no Rio Grande do Sul), muito antes pelo contrário.

Considero uma forma de agradecimento a eles e como um suplemento ao trabalho incansável por eles realizado, principalmente Amstad, Hunsche e Porto.

Muitas vezes nos esquecemos de que eles se depararam com uma carência de fontes ao realizar suas pesquisas, numa era pré computador e pré Internet, onde a pesquisa devia ser feita in loco, muitas vezes, ou então em livros que eram difíceis de se obter na época.

Hoje, o pesquisador que disponha de tempo e boa vontade, na maioria das vezes, pode realizar a sua pesquisa de sua residência, o que certamente não era possível quando Amstad, Porto e Hunsche escreveram suas obras.

Obviamente que todo escritor está sujeito a erros na sua escrita e isso é inerente ao seu trabalho.

Na realidade, acredito que estes escritores deveriam receber uma homenagem especial quando da comemoração que irá se realizar quando chegarmos aos 200 anos da imigração alemã no Brasil/Rio Grande do Sul (1824 – 2024).

  • Passageiros do navio Friedrich Heinrich.
  • Várias datas de saída e chegada dos navios de imigrantes corrigidas.
  • Número de colonos e soldados de vários navios corrigidos.
  • Passageiros Sumaca Carolina (RS).
  • Navio do Carl Gottfried Von Ende (1o. médico na colônia de São Leopoldo).

Im Laufe des Jahres 2017 haben wir ein persönliches Projekt gestartet, um Informationen von Schiffen und Passagieren aus der ersten Emigrantenzeit deutscher Siedler nach Brasilien zu retten, genauer gesagt von 1824 bis 1828.

Von dieser Arbeit cam 3 E-Books über die deutsche Einwanderung in den Bundesstaat Rio Grande do Sul:

  • Deutsche Einwanderung nach Rio Grande do Sul Jahre 1824 und 1825 (Imigração Alemã para o Rio Grande do Sul anos 1824 e 1825);
  • Deutsche Einwanderung nach Rio Grande do Sul Jahre 1826 und 1827 (Imigração Alemã para o Rio Grande do Sul anos 1826 e 1827);
  • Deutsche Einwanderung nach Rio Grande do Sul Jahre 1828 bis 1830 (Imigração Alemã para o Rio Grande do Sul anos 1828 a 1830).

Bei der Durchführung der Forschung zu den oben genannten Arbeiten haben wir jedoch festgestellt, dass die Immigration tatsächlich mehrere brasilianische Staaten betrifft, die schwer auf den Bundesstaat Rio Grande do Sul zu beschränken sind.

Bei der Entwicklung der Arbeit haben wir auf die Hilfe von Forschern aus Brasilien, Deutschland und Holland zurückgegriffen.

Projeto Emigração Alemã para o Brasil Período de 1824 a 1830

Prezados/as,

durante o ano de 2017 iniciamos um projeto pessoal para resgatar informações de navios e passageiros do primeiro período emigratório de colonos alemães para o Brasil, mais exatamente no período de 1824 a 1830.

Deste trabalho surgiram 3 e-books contemplando a imigração alemã para o Estado do Rio Grande do Sul:

  • Imigração Alemã para o Rio Grande do Sul anos 1824 e 1825;
  • Imigração Alemã para o Rio Grande do Sul anos 1826 e 1827;
  • Imigração Alemã para o Rio Grande do Sul anos 1828 a 1830.

No entanto, ao proceder a pesquisa relativa ao trabalho citado, verificamos que na realidade a imigração envolveu vários estados brasileiros, ficando difícil restringir apenas ao estado do Rio Grande do Sul.

Durante o desenvolvimento do trabalho contamos com a ajuda de pesquisadores do Brasil, Alemanha e Holanda.

Duitse immigratie via Nederlandse havens/German immigration via Dutch ports/Imigração alemã via portos da Holanda

Een opvallend feit in de geschiedenis van de Duitse immigratie naar Brazilië (inclusief de staat Rio Grande do Sul) is dat veel schepen met immigranten havens in Nederland hebben verlaten.

De belangrijkste havens in Nederland waren die van Amsterdam, Texel en Rotterdam.

Volgens historici gebeurde dit om verschillende redenen, waaronder het feit dat de landroute werd vergemakkelijkt door het vertrek door Nederland van een aantal oude koninkrijken van Duitsland.

Als gevolg hiervan wachtten immigranten vaak lang in Nederlandse steden voordat ze aan boord van het schip kwamen dat hen naar Brazilië zou vervoeren.

Ook volgens historici waren de instaplijsten op deze schepen verloren in de 2e Wereldoorlog.

Het is echter mogelijk dat er documenten in Nederland zijn die de bovengenoemde passagierslijsten kunnen verduidelijken.

Imigração alemã via portos da Holanda

Um fato marcante na história da imigração alemã para o Brasil (incluindo ai o estado do Rio Grande do Sul) é que muitos navios com os imigrantes saíram de portos da Holanda.

Os principais portos utilizados na Holanda foram os de Amsterdã, Texel e Roterdã.

Segundo os historiadores, isto foi feito por vários motivos, entre eles o fato de que rota terrestre era facilitada pela saída pela Holanda de alguns antigos reinos das Alemanha.

Em consequência disso, muitas vezes os imigrantes aguardavam um bom tempo em cidades holandesas antes de embarcarem no navio que os transportariam para o Brasil.

Também segundo os historiadores as listas de embarque nestes navios foram perdidas na 2ª grande guerra mundial.

No entanto, é possível que existam documentos na Holanda que possam esclarecer sobre as listas de passageiros citadas.

German immigration via Dutch ports

A striking fact in the history of German immigration to Brazil (including the state of Rio Grande do Sul) is that many ships with immigrants have left ports in the Netherlands.

The main ports used in the Netherlands were those of Amsterdam, Texel and Rotterdam.

According to historians, this was done for several reasons, including the fact that land route was facilitated by the departure by Holland of some ancient kingdoms of Germany.

Schiff Cäcilia: Mythos/Legende oder Wirklichkeit?

In der Studie der deutschen Einwanderung in Rio Grande do Sul/ Brasilien fanden wir von 1824 bis 1840 mehr als 40 Schiffe (Fey).

Unter diesen Schiffen sticht eine Geschichte hervor: die Reise des Schiffes Cäcilia.

Die Fahrt des Schiffes hat in 2017 190 Jahre geworden.

Nach den örtlichen Schriftstellern, die mit der deutschen Auswanderung verbunden waren, verließ das Schiff Cäcilia im Januar 1827 Bremen oder Hamburg mit einer katastrophalen Reise.

Das Schiff hätte während eines Sturms in der Nordsee, England, zwischen dem 12. und 13. Januar dieses Jahres schwere Schäden erlitten.

Das Schiff hätte alle drei Masten verloren und nach einiger Zeit von einem englischen Booten gerettet und in den Hafen von Plymouth oder Falmouth geschleppt, in England.

Mit kleinen Variationen wurde diese Geschichte seit 1924 in mehreren Webseiten und Büchern repliziert, als Vater Amstad sein Buch zum Gedenken an das hundertjährige deutsche Einwanderungsamt in Rio Grande do Sul veröffentlichte.

Von hier aus kamen mehrere Versionen der Reise.

Für einige Schriftsteller verließ das Schiff Bremen für andere aus Hamburg.

In der Version einiger Schriftsteller wurde das Schiff nach Plymouth geschleppt und zweitens zum Hafen von Falmouth.

Immer noch fragen Sie das Datum der Abreise: für einige wäre es im Jahre 1827 und für andere im Jahre 1828.

Vor kurzem erschien eine neue Version, wo es heißt, dass in Wirklichkeit dieses Schiff nicht existiert und der Name wurde geändert, aus irgendeinem unbekannten Grund.

Es ist sicher, dass viele der schiffbrüchigen Seeleute dieses Schiffes, ob sie existierten oder nicht, 1829 nach Brasilien an Bord des James Laing Ship kam (siehe Liste der Passagiere auf der entsprechenden Seite auf der Blog-Homepage).

Diese Blog-Seite versucht, Informationen über diese Reise zu verbreiten, die die deutsche Einwanderung in Rio Grande do Sul markiert hat.

Im Juni 2018 wurde bestätigt, dass das Schiff im Januar 1828 aus Holland segelte und sein Name eigentlich “Helena Maria” war.
